The Polish Home Association Board of Trustees decided to sign a contract for the new construction starting in July 2008 with Shinstine Assoc. as the general contractor. The current plan is to build the "shell" of the extension towards 18th Ave with the functioning elevator for $460,000. More about it here. This is a very popular event with a tradition which goes back hundreds of years. The Polish Choir "Vivat Musica!" invites everybody to "Vivat Amore" spectacle - a joyful evening of music, good food and wine. You can sing along merrily with the members of the Choir . The bar at the Polish Home will be open and deserts available as well. The evening is a fundraiser for the Polish Home expansion project so mail donation even if you unable to attend. Tickets $50 PHA members, $60 regular; a ticket includes a home made dinner, wine as well as deserts, coffee & tea; dinner from 6 pm downstairs, wine & desserts upstairs. Saturday, Jan 19, 4:00 PM Please join Consul Paulina Kapuscinska in honoring Polish survivors of the WWII mass deportations to Siberia. From 1939 to 1941, Soviet authorities sent to Gulag and deportation camps over 1.5 mln Poles - men, women and children. Most of them perished but about 120,000 evacuated to Iran with Gen. Anders in 1943. The program includes a historical presentation (in English) by Martha Golubiec and decoration of the survivors from the Seattle area with the Cross of Siberian Exiles.

Polish Home, Jan 6, 2:30 pm This is a traditional Christmas wafer (oplatek) sharing for members and friends of the Polish Home with Fr. Stanislaw Michalek. The Polish Choir Vivat Musica will bring the joy of carols singing to the occasion and everybody is invited to come and sing Polish and American carols along. |
