48th Annual Fall Bazaar at PHA, Saturday, November 1st and Sunday, November 2nd, noon – 7 pm Yes, this is 48th Annual Fall Polish Bazaar! It is a yearly event organized by the Ladies Auxiliary. The booths upstairs will offer Polish crystal bowl and vases, Boleslawiec pottery, amber and silver jewelry, pottery, crafts, books and much more. Downstairs you can enjoy traditional Polish dishes of pierogi, sausage, cabbage rolls etc. served by the young generation of waiters clad in Polish folk costumes. You can also buy home made desserts and pastries. Most of the Puget Sound area Polish organizations would have their booths or info posted. This is usually a quite crowded event, so come early! The choir "Vivat Musica!" will perform on Saturday at 2:00 PM Where: at the Polish Home, 1714 18th Ave. Seattle, admission and parking free

Saturday, October 25th 7:30 PM A Polish cabaret troupe, "Grupa Wokalna Albo Tak, Albo Nie" from Vancouver, BC, comes to Seattle with eight performers to present a program in Polish "Bawmy sie, smiejmy sie". The restaurant will be opened for the occasion. Tickets $12 advanced, $15 regular

Sobota, 11-go października 19:30 Występ zespołu polskiego "Klavitarre". Duet Klavitarre, który tworzą Jolanta (fortepian) i Maciej (gitara) Ziemscy, istnieje od 5 lat. Oboje artyści ukończyli tą samą, łódzką Akademię Muzyczną. To właśnie w Łodzi odkryli w sobie pasję wspólnego interpretowania muzyki. Ciekawe zestawienie dwóch instrumentów - gitary klasycznej i fortepianu - tworzy bogatą paletę brzmień. Zaskakujące aranżacje są zapowiedzią niezapomnianych doznań artystycznych. Repertuar duetu Klavitarre obejmuje utwory od baroku po utwory pisane przez współcześnie żyjących kompozytorów. Ich własne opracowania utworów A. Piazzoliego, R. Dyensa, F. Chopina, M. Moszkowskiego, A. Tansmana, I. Albeniza i in. kompozytorów są swoistą nowością na rynku muzycznym. Artyści koncertowali w wielu krajach, m.in. w Niemczech (gdzie obecnie mieszkają), we Francji, Włoszech, Hiszpanii, Rumunii, a także w USA. Kuchnia bedzie otwarta od 17:30. The Polish Home Association Board of Trustees decided to sign a contract for the new construction starting in July 2008 with Shinstine Assoc. as the general contractor. The current plan is to build the "shell" of the extension towards 18th Ave with the functioning elevator for $460,000. More about it here. Friday, June 6-th 8:00 PM 30th International Dance The Dance sponsored by the Ukrainian American Club of Washington will take place at South Lake Union Park; 860 Terry Ave N, Seattle.  Doors open at 6:30 PM.  Ethnic food, soft drinks and ice are available all evening.  Music is provided by "Bert Carlson and his band" with dancing starting promptly at 8:00 PM.  This is a "B.Y.O.B." event. May 31, 6pm  "Biesiada" : a merry sing-along dinner party at the PHA This is a very popular event with a tradition which goes back hundreds of years. The Polish Choir "Vivat Musica!" invites everybody to "Vivat Amore" spectacle - a joyful evening of music, good food and wine. You can sing along merrily with the members of the Choir . The bar at the Polish Home will be open and deserts available as well. The evening is a fundraiser for the Polish Home expansion project so mail donation even if you unable to attend. May 10, noon - 5pm:  All You Can Eat Pierogi Fest It's the annual pierogi (Polish dumplings) extravaganza that includes several different kinds of pierogi: meat, potato & cheese, blueberries, plum etc.  You can eat leisurely, listen to Polish music and have a good time. Sunday April 27th 2:30PM Third of May Celebration The 3rd of May celebration at the Polish Home marks the anniversary of the first Polish constitution, which was enacted on May 3, 1791. The program includes performances by students of the Polish School in Seattle and the Polish Choir Vivat Musica. Marzena Szlaga will play on piano. The restaurant and bar will be open for the occasion.

The PHA Elections Committee Announcement The Election Committee announces that, in accordance with Election Procedures, all eligible PHA members interested in becoming candidates for PHA elected positions are required to submit in writing to the Election Committee their interest for a specific position by January 5th 2008. Saturday, Jan 19, 4:00 PM Please join Consul Paulina Kapuscinska in honoring Polish survivors of the WWII mass deportations to Siberia. From 1939 to 1941, Soviet authorities sent to Gulag and deportation camps over 1.5 mln Poles - men, women and children. Most of them perished but about 120,000 evacuated to Iran with Gen. Anders in 1943. Christmas wafer sharing and carols at the Polish Home, Jan 6, 2:30 pm This is a traditional Christmas wafer (oplatek) sharing for members and friends of the Polish Home with Fr. Stanislaw Michalek. The Polish Choir Vivat Musica will bring the joy of carols singing to the occasion and everybody is invited to come and sing Polish and American carols along.
