55th Annual Fall Bazaar at PHA, Saturday, November 7th and Sunday, November 8th, noon – 6 pm

Yes, this is 55th Annual Fall Polish Bazaar! It is a yearly event organized by the Ladies Auxiliary.

The booths upstairs will offer Polish crystal bowl and vases, Boleslawiec pottery, amber and silver jewelry, pottery, crafts, books and much more.

The "Vivat Musica!" choir will perform on Saturday at 2:30

Downstairs you can enjoy traditional Polish dishes of pierogi, sausage, cabbage rolls etc. served by the young generation of waiters clad in Polish folk costumes. You can also buy home made desserts and pastries. Most of the Puget Sound area Polish organizations would have their booths or info posted. This is usually a quite crowded event, so come early!

Juliusz Słowacki Polish School in Seattle offer classes for children and adults, which take place every Monday between 6 PM and 8:30 PM.

The curriculum includes Polish language, history, geography, culture and traditions. We are accepting preschool students / 5 years or older/ - classes every Saturday 10:15 AM – 12:00PM.

Registration day is September 14, 6:00PM to 8:00PM.School is located at Polish Home, 1714 18th Ave., Seattle.

The Polish Cultural Center and the PB Kitchen restaurant will be closed between August 1st 2015 and September 10th 2015. 

We will reopen on Friday, September 11th 2015

Polish Home Association presents a screening of "Witness to Hope: The Life of John Paul II"

The documentary traces the personal life and struggles of the first non-Italian pope in over 450 years.

Based on George Weigel’s book of the same title, Witness to Hope is a complete and intimate portrait of an extraordinary leader.

With a special introduction by Father Łukasz Miśko from the Catholic Newman Center at the University of Washington.

Addmission is free.

Members and sympathizers of the Polish Cultural Center are invited to participate in old polish tradition of sharing eggs blessed at Easter.  The PHA will provide meats and sausages; we are asking to bring pastry and salads.

Human Identity is an "inventive, funny and eye-opening" one man show by the Los Angeles-based writer and performer Christopher Vened Szwaja. Mr. Vened is an actor trained in the famous Henryk Tomaszewski Pantomime Theatre in Wroclaw, Poland, where he played many leading roles. In this monodrama Mr. Vened combines words and physical action to ponder on what it means to be human.

The Polish Choir Vivat Musica! from Seattle will give a concert at the Ethnic Celebration in Lacey, WA. This family oriented event includes performances at 3 different stages by many different ethnic group ensembles as well as the usual booths with arts and crafts, ethnic food, vendors and children activities. The event runs from 10 am to 6 pm.

Saturday, Feb 7, 4 pm: Japan's Rescue of Polish Children from Siberia in 1920

The Polish Home Association and the Honorary Consulate of Poland in Seattle invite you to a historical presentation by Martha Golubiec Japan's Rescue of Polish Children from Siberia from 1920 to 1923 about children saved from turmoil of the Russian Revolution.

Seattle was an important transit point for the children on their way from Japan to Poland. Anna Domeradzka, a survivor's daughter, will be present at the event

Election Announcement, Polish Home Association

The annual PHA Election will be held at the Polish Home on Saturday, January 24-th, 2015 at 3:00 pm.

As required by our Bylaws, anybody interested in running for an executive or trustee position will need to declare his or her candidacy in writing by January 5-th, 2015 and send it by mail it to:

Or, the text and picture can be send in electronic form to mattkarczewski@icloud.com.

The Election Pamphlet, along with individual proxies will be mailed to all members in good standing (dues fully paid up).  

Any members that have not voted in prior PHA elections and would like to do so by proxy are invited to present their signatures at the Polish Home on Fridays, the 9th or 16th of January 2015.
