KINO OKO is showing: “Stefan Starzynski -The Investigation Was Discontinued”

Polish Film Club KINO OKO is showing another documentary film:
“Stefan Starzynski -The Investigation Was Discontinued”

on Friday 1/26 @ 8:30 pm, at the Polish Cultural Center – Upper Hall (60 min, eng subtitles)

President Stefan Starzynski became famous for his heroic attitude during the defense of Warsaw in September 1939 – he refused to evacuate with the government to Romania. He remained faithful to Warsaw to the end, he did not abandon it in the face of the advancing German troops, even despite receiving a clear order. Starzynski was a politician with a vision and grand plans that were destroyed by World War II.

The circumstances of Stefan Starzyński’s death are still not entirely clear. His assassination is attributed to Einsatzgruppe IV under the command of SS-Brigadeführer Lothar Beutel. There are many different hypotheses about when and where he was murdered and that’s what the documentary is about.
